Presses with Straightening Attachment

The device is used for straightening shafts mainly in repair shops and consists of the straightening bed screwed on the table of the press (for larger straightening lengths supported by feet), a straightening carriage, as well as the necessary straightening and measuring apparatus.

The shaft to be straightened is clamped between centres. By turning the shaft by hand, the concentricity can be read from the effect as a bending operation of a carrier on two supports exceeding the elastic limit. Hereby, the spring-mounted centre holders are giving way, and the shaft is lying on the anvils. Since the dial indicator is mounted in a protective special holder, it need not be swivelled or retracted, which results in the straightening time being reduced. The anvils are made of rings so that their height may be altered.
